Cupcake Tuesday!

In honor of my daughter's 6th birthday today is Cupcake Tuesday at
Anne Maddox Boutique!

I thought I would share some simple, fun ideas for planning your daughter's birthday party!  My daughter's favorite thing is how we "dress up" the chairs for their party.  I just bought white muslin material and tied it on with tulle.  I would recommend buying the tool that comes as a bolt of fabric for extra fluff.  The best thing is you can save the fabric and use it again!  Great for the environment!  Just make sure to measure the chairs you are using from floor to top of chair and from the seat to the top.  Then add together to get the length you need.

I also use fabric for the tablecloths.  I've found you can find much cuter girly fabrics that go with your theme!  You can use them again or make an outfit out of them later!  Simple roses make a nice centerpiece to complete the look.


Another thing the girls always want at their party is a craft!  They seem to take after their mother :)  Last year we cut zebra and hot pink fabric strips to tie on flip flops.  This year they decorated tote bags I had embellished with glitter hearts.  They drew on the bags with fabric markers and even had their friends sign their names to the bags.  Make sure to cover your tablecloth otherwise you may find new art decorating it (fabric markers will not wash out).

As for the cupcakes...last year they had a minnie mouse theme and a friend of mine had a great idea of something she had seen online.  We took cupcakes and topped them with pink icing.  Then made "Minnie Mouse" out of mini and regular Oreos.  This is a picture from Shabbyblogs.com because hers are much cuter than mine were! http://becauseisawitonpinterest.blogspot.com/2011/12/mickey-minnie-mouse-cupcakes.html
